PIVOTING COOKING VAPOR EXTRACTION DEVICE PATENT OBTAINED BY LERNER & GREENBERG, P.A.
Article Date: 9-25-2003
Gregory L. Mayback, a Registered Patent Attorney and Shareholder with Lerner & Greenberg, P.A., successfully obtained a patent from the United States Patent Office for an original device with an elongated intake section and pivoting abilities that extracts vapors emitted when cooking (U.S. Patent 6,604,520).
"Conventional models used for eliminating vapors are placed above the cooking area, such as hoods or chimneys. They often move the vapors back into the work space or are filtered and blown through a fan into the open," said Mayback. "This new invention uses the same method of vapor extraction as high quality fryers or grills where the vapors are drawn away from the side of the cooking area and pushed downward rather than sucked up and emitted back into the work environment."
The device invented by Maximilian Grimm, Armin Zibold, Ulrich Gremmelmaier, Martin Wetzel, Martin Kornberger and Michael Wendt with BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeriite GmbH ("Bosch"), is placed next to the cooking area to enable the cook access to the food from all angles while providing a complete view for food preparation.
"This vapor extraction device is exceptionally unique with regard to its functionally. Its pivoting capabilities enable the user to have complete control of the height, position and vapor extraction location," added Mayback.
